Title

Grandma Prisbrey

Description

When I first came to the Woman's Building, I saw this exhibition of the work of folk artist, Grandma Prisbrey. Fascinating. It had been curated by women in the FSW, one of which was Cheri Gaulke. I remember a trip that Cheri, Nancy Angelo, and I took to Simi Valley to see the Bottle Village. Grandma Prisbrey was very old, but toured us around her structures-- all the while asking us to give her the pencils and pens from our purses. I'm happy I had the chance to visit her in person. I hope someone is preserving her work.
